Machester Based Construction Estimator Required.

Award-winning developer of Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) is currently seeking an Estimator from a main contracting background to work on projects ranging from £50m to £200m located in University Cities across the U.K, such as Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Bristol, London etc.

Responsibilities:

As an Estimator you will be a key member of the preconstruction team to support the business through the submission of accurate and competitive tenders.

• Prepare enquiry schedules and liaise with the procurement team in the selection of appropriate companies from whom quotations should be sought.
• Obtain sufficient quotations to enable valid commercial judgements at the tender finalisation meetings
• Provide all information necessary to enable the review of the conditions of contract, insurance, bonds, and warranties
• Produce analytical rate build up information for Bills of Quantities in an accurate and well detailed format
• Continually refine analytical cost data derived from feedback
• Identify and analyse opportunities to give a commercial advantage to tenders
• Identify and analyse risks and produce a risk register for each tender
• Prepare preliminary cost estimates.
• Preparation of commercial documents for tender submission
• Attend tender finalisation meetings, present all relevant cost information, and complete the tender as instructed

About You:

• Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages, e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Knowledge of estimating process utilising a computerised analytical estimating system i.e Conquest
• Experience in risk management techniques
• Previous experience working for a main contractor.
• Experience of working on multi-storey office / apartment schemes desirable.
• Equivalent of Level 3 NVQ or Certificate Level qualification. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Critical analysis and decision-making skills
• Manages time efficiently, plans and prioritises work activities
• Understanding of Conditions of Contract and Specifications
• Commercial awareness and technical knowledge
