The primary purpose of this role is to identify the needs and provide cost effective solutions to transportation planning issues considering the needs of key stakeholders, analyse traffic patterns and other data to determine effective solutions to resolve journey time reliability, safety, access, parking, multimodal and congestion issues, and analyse transportation planning and policy issues using appropriate data sources to determine appropriate solutions to address current and future transport issues.

As well as the preparation of designs, reports, specifications and other deliverables for schemes, the responsibilities of this role include the allocation of tasks to other members of the team and the monitoring of progress and consequent designs to ensure that they meet the design briefs and expected levels of technical excellence.

The successful candidate will have a relevant Degree in a transportation related subject and will be a member of an appropriate professional institution with substantial proven post-chartered experience in Transportation Planning.

They will have understanding of H&S and Environmental Requirements related to Transportation Planning and Highway Schemes and proven knowledge and application of software design as well as knowledge of design standards (DMRB/MCDHW etc) and procedures relevant to both HA and Transportation Planning.

They will be highly self motivated, ambitious and keen to further develop a career in transportation planning.
